Christmas is a time when we make the effort to spend time with our families, friends and loved ones, but an ear wax blockage can make it very difficult to get the most out of that time. We appreciate that it can be hard to find a reliable ear wax removal service in London in the run up to Christmas, and so to make life that little bit easier, here are our last minute holiday opening dates and times, for all our London microsuction clinics. These last minute appointments are limited and demand is high, so please book in advance if possible. If not, we may have some Out Of Hours or Urgent appointments available on the day. Note that this availability is correct as of Sunday 17th December, and appointments will be booked on a first come, first served basis.
We do impacted ear wax removal at our six clinics in London and Hertfordshire. This process is performed by one of our highly trained Audiologists or our specially trained Medical Nurses using a process called Microsuction.
Our staff will be pleased to receive your enquiry or book you in for an appointment at a time which is convenient to you.
If you have impacted earwax it can be very painful, reduce your hearing, even cause you to loose your hearing in one or even both your ears, so our speedy and pain free earwax removal should be your first step in taking care of your ear health.
At least take the time to check out your hearing to find out if impacted earwax is the cause of your hearing loss.
How We Clear Earwax
Our clinics pride ourselves in using the latest techniques and equipment to ensure that your ears are
treated gently and with great accuracy as we examine them to determine the exact location of rogue earwax. We use operating microscopes that can either be large floor standing units, or can be incorporated into glasses (known as operating loupes) to discover your earwax location within the ear. Once we have located the exact position of the earwax, we then use a medical suction pump that is attached to a tube and a 2 millimetre suction wand which is used to suction the wax from your ear. For clearing a blocked ear, clearing ear wax, reducing or removing pain from your ears, we believe that this is the quickest and safest method for removing impacted ear wax.
Microsuction should only be performed by someone with a good knowledge of the anatomy of the ear and who has been trained in how to use the equipment safely to ensure a speedy and pain free treatment.
That is why we ensure that our Audiologists and Specialist Nurses have had further training in the process. We do not spray water into the ear so our process is safe to use even after ear surgery or when the eardrum has been damaged or perforated.
The Microsuction Practitioner uses a powerful operating microscope and a bright light source, so he or she can see exactly what is happening inside your ear, so the procedure is the safest of all.
Making An Appointment For Your Impacted Earwax Removal
We have a limited number of early morning and evening micro suction appointments at our Baker Street, Welwyn Garden City and East Finchley clinics, as well as our normal practice hours.
You can make an appointment online via our website by completing the Online Booking Form which is quick and simple to fill in. You will have a choice of using our Out Of Hours service or you can select a One Ear Service or a Two Ear Service. Please visit our website via this link:
Our experienced staff offer an instant wax removal service for blocked ears at five of our practices in the London area Check Locations.
Our special equipment enables us to see right into your ear as far as your eardrum via your ear canals and to determine exactly the amount of wax for removal and its location in your ear.
When we see you for your instant wax removal service for blocked ears, our specially trained clinical staff will firstly inspect your 'blocked ear' to determine whether microsuction is the correct treatment for you.
Naturally, we take the greatest of care in the removal of earwax, and to make this easier and ensure complete removal we suggest that once you have made your appointment at one of our clinics you use Earol spray to soften and loosen your earwax to ensure a speedy and pain free wax removal. For further information about methods of earwax removal and how we remove earwax please click this link.
Under the guidance of Jason Levy, our Audiologists and highly trained specialist Nursing Staff will provide the best of treatment using the most up to date equipment for speedy removal of wax blockage from the ear canals and around the eardrum using Micro Suction.
Is Micro Suction The Best Instant Wax Removal Service?
Microsuction is our preferred method of instant wax removal. Why? Because the Microsuction practitioner uses a powerful microscope and bright light source, or alternatively a special ear endoscope (a slim tube with a built in camera lens and fibre optic light source) which is carefully and painlessly placed within your ear so that they are able to see a clear view of your canal and determine the extent of and exact location of your earwax.
The specially trained Practitioner can then carefully remove the earwax blockage without the use of a syringe (avoiding the chance of infection) so that your hearing can return to your normal levels. This treatment can improve hearing immediately and can also help with existing tinnitus too, when it is attributable to an earwax blockage.
Safe And Effective
Because this system does not require the use of water being sprayed inside the ear, (flooding the ear canals and eardrum to flush out the earwax) it is a safer method and can be used after ear surgery or when the patient has a perforated eardrum.
Here's What Patients Have Said:
Very pleased with the microsuction treatment
I can really recommend this service, I regularly suffer with blocked ears (so annoying). I normally get my doctor to refer me but the waiting time is now 6 weeks, so I booked the microsuction service and had a very good experience. I will use this service again in the future.
I had been suffering from blocked ears for more than a month. Ear syringing through the NHS had never worked well for me in the past, often exacerbating my eczema and risking possible infections. I was very pleased to find an alternative and Jason was very careful to explain the procedure which was simple and pain-free. I would have no hesitation in returning.
Jason Levy did a super job of ear wax removal for me. Explained everything in great detail.
Painless and superb results. No more irrigation for me!
Pinner Microsuction London HA5
A quick and painless experience:
I normally get my ears syringed due to wax buildup problem. I tried microsuction in Pinner, London today for the first time and it was quick and painless, both ears done in less than 15 minutes. Highly recommend it.
Microsuction in Hertfordshire
Thank you. A very successful visit! It’s wonderful to be able to hear again.
Here, at the Microsuction Earwax Removal Centre in London, we have five centres that you can choose from where you can find ear wax removal in London. Our Professional Audiologists and senior specialist nursing staff are at hand to provide the best care when you need it the most.
Symptoms That Indicate You Need Walk In Ear Syringing London
Many people suffer the discomfort and possibly pain from symptoms associated with ear wax blockages, in many cases they do not even realise that they need treatment. If any of the following symptoms are experienced then you should immediately contact a professional Audiologist to ensure expert treatment and on no account try to 'fix it' yourself as you might do further damage to the workings of the delicate inner ear canals.
Symptoms may include itchy ears, build up of wax in the outer ear which blocks the ear canal when the individual tries to clear away the wax using baby buds or other handy implements, reduced hearing and even pain from impacting of the ear channel.
Ear Syringing Clinic
After realising they have an ear wax blockage, many people search for a walk in ear syringing clinic, because they have only ever experienced ear syringing at their local surgery. Nowadays, the old style metal ear syringe associated with school medical centres and retro hospital departments has been replaced by a modern ear irrigator pump with a jet tip. The pump has a variable, regulated pressure, but the process is essentially the same. A body temperature water jet flows through the pump in an upward motion into the ear and a low pressure suction gently draws out the softened wax easily. To find out more about this method of ear wax removal and other methods that are offered by our centres, follow our link: https://www.earwaxremoval.net/methods-of-ear-wax-removal/
Ear Syringing Complications And A Better Alternative
Many GP surgeries are withdrawing ear syringing / irrigation as a service, because according to the British Medical Journal the risk of complications is quite high:
A postal survey of 312 general practitioners who served 650 000 people in Edinburgh found that problems associated with ear syringing were failure of wax removal (29%), otitis media (17%), perforation of the ear drum (15%), and trauma to the external auditory meatus (11%)
At The Microsuction Ear Wax Removal Network, we have left the old fashioned, risky ear syringing / irrigation behind and only offer the much safer microsuction, backed up by dry instrument removal, as a method of ear wax removal.
Our Audiologist Mr. Jason Levy and his colleagues use safer methods of removing stubborn earwax, including dry instrument removal and Microsuction. If people have tried to deal with the blockage themselves and the pain continues, we prefer to use the speed and efficiency of Microsuction at our clinics.
If you are suffering from ear wax build up, blockage in your ear canals that is resulting in discomfort or pain, whatever the cause, do not hesitate to get in touch with any of our centres where you can be assured of the best support.
Here's What Our Patients Said About Us
“Would Choose This Again”
I needed my ears syringed but the dr’s couldn’t fit me in for almost a month. There was no way I could wait that long so looked online and microsuction came up. Once there I was made to feel welcome and relaxed. The procedure was quick and easy and my hearing came back instantly. I recommend this to anyone who needs it and would choose this again if required.
Jason Levy did a super job of ear wax removal for me. Explained everything in great detail. Painless and superb results. No more irrigation for me!
Great To Hear Again!
I got my ear cleared by Raspal Kaur using microsuction at the clinic based in InFocus Opticians, 19 Melcombe Street, London NW1 6AG. I was very happy with the service and with the reuslt, so many thanks. Raspal was very good, helpful and efficient.
Having a blocked ear due to hardened earwax can be very irritating. Dryness may occur, itchiness may add up, and worse is the pain. You can lose your sense of hearing due to this condition and it can ruin your performance in your job or any of your dealings with each day. Getting clogged earwax out of the ear canal can be the best solution and this is a clinical procedure only professionals can perform.
Some experts use ear irrigation and some opt for ear syringing. With the perks of microsuction technology, this has now been utilized by the most highly qualified audiologists.
How to Deal With A Blocked Ear
There are people who sometimes try to do things on their own, yet most of the times; they end up just worsening the case. Do not be like them and entrust this condition to some trained individuals who will perform the entire procedures.
You cannot just let any earwax (cerumen) block your hearing sense. Removing them with low pressure suction can give you so much comfort in just a few minutes of waiting. There is no need to keep going back to an audiologist since you will only be required to get a same day service.
With a microscope worn by a trained specialist, with the medical suction device and with the help of some olive oils to save you from irritations and light pain, then the process of earwax removal can happen right away. This blockage in your ear will have its very smooth exit.
What are the other Advantages of Choosing Low Pressure Suction
Unlike any other process, with Microsuction technology, introducing the low pressure suction, there is no need for the whole procedure to be messy. In some cases, there is no need to use any fluid, which makes everything fast and clean. While on the other hand, a small ear irrigation process can also be used with the temperature of water that is same of your body’s.
With the audiologists to use the necessary high-end equipment, they can have a better view of your ear canal, which makes them very comfortable and you will be very confident that the entire procedure will be very quick and smooth.
The blocked ear will never experience any pain, which can sometimes add to the discomfort feeling. You will be at ease for the whole duration of the removal process. It will be a dry process, which is ideal for those patients with perforated eardrums.
In just a few minutes, you can get back your hearing senses.
At The Microsuction EarWax Removal Network, we are excited to announce that we will be adding a Saturday earwax removal clinic at our Baker Street branch from 16th April 2016. Joining us will be Raspal Kaur, an experienced Audiologist who was trained in microsuction at Rotherham Primary Ear Care Centre.
If you need ear wax removed at the weekend, you can book an appointment on 0800 1 337 987.
Weekend Earwax Removal Clinic Price
The cost of a Saturday earwax removal appointment will be £80 for one or two ears, which is still great value compared to other clinics in Central London.
We decided to extend our microsuction earwax removal clinic to Saturdays, as many people have enquired with us about weekend earwax removal appointments as they work Monday to Friday. This is because they are unable to attend an ear wax removal clinic during the week. The addition of a weekend ear wax removal clinic is a service that we are delighted to offer those who live or work in London.
Saturday Earwax Removal Clinic London Location
Our earwax removal clinic is within Berkeley Court Pharmacy on Melcombe Street. If you don't know the Baker Street area that well, Melcombe Street is just off Baker Street, between Baker Street and Marylebone London Underground stations. It's about a one minute walk from Baker Street Underground station, or four minutes by foot from Marylebone station.
We strongly recommend that to increase the probability that we'll be able to remove all the wax, and so the procedure will be a more pleaasant experience, you ought to use Earol two times a day in both ears for two or more days prior to your appointment (if possible). You should be able to buy Earol for approximately £5 from any good pharmacy.
Please note that we don't recommend the use of Otex, as this contains peroxide, which can cause irritation of the ear canal, and as a result the microsuction procedure may be less comfortable for you.
You can find more information about our Central London earwax removal clinic here. That page has more information, like how you can get there, as well as the address, contact details, nearest underground stations and where you can park.
We offer a £5 discount for people who self-book online. However, we can also book you in by telephone on 0800 1 337 987 any time Monday to Thursday, 7am to 8.00pm, Friday 7am to 5.30pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm.

Baker Street is a street in the Marylebone district of the City of Westminster in London. It is named after builder William Baker, who laid out the street in the 18th century. The street is most famous for its connection to the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes, who lived at a fictional 221B Baker Street address on the north of the street. The area was originally high class residential, but now is mainly occupied by commercial premises.
Arnold Bennett and H.G Wells used to live at Chiltern Court on Baker Street, and are commemorated with a blue plaque.
British singer Dusty Springfield lived on Baker Street in the 1960s.
In 1835, the first wax museum of Madame Tussauds was opened on Baker Street. The museum moved, just around the corner, to Marylebone Road in 1884.
In 1940 the HQ of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) moved to 64 Baker Street. They were nicknamed the "Baker Street Irregulars" after the fictional gang of the same name in Sherlock Holmes novels.
The Beatles' Apple Boutique was based at 94 Baker Street from 1967 to 1968.
A blue plaque commemorates Prime Minister William Pitt the Younger who lived at 120 Baker Street from 1803 to 1804.
